Mismatched family data. If your father's name on the old CNIC reads slightly differently from his current record (a missing middle name, a different spelling), the system flags it. Fix the discrepancy first — you may need a separate modification application, not a renewal.

Signature uploaded as a photo. Sign on white A4, scan it (not photograph it), upload as JPEG. Phone photos of signatures get rejected often.

Wrong card type. Pakistanis with UAE residency should renew as NICOP, not CNIC. NICOP is the overseas variant and is what UAE entities recognise for dual-status purposes. Picking CNIC by mistake means redoing the whole application. Frankly, this is the most common error.
